ABOUT THE PROJECT<\/p>\n

The exhibition, entitled “Recovered History: Jewish Life in Wroc\u0142aw and Lower Silesia<\/em><\/strong>,” was first presented on May 6, 2010, in the newly restored Synagogue under the White Stork in Wroc\u0142aw. The opening of the exhibition was part of the events marking the completion of the first phase of the project to restore the synagogue building for the Wroc\u0142aw Jewish Community as a Center for Jewish Education and Culture.<\/p>\n

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION<\/p>\n

The mission of the Bente Kahan Foundation is to promote the values of mutual respect and human rights, drawing on the tragic experiences of European Jews during World War II.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n
\n<\/strong\nThe Bente Kahan Foundation, established in 2006, has been dedicated to restoring the vibrancy of Jewish heritage. It was responsible for the restoration of the Synagogue under the White Stork (2010), the *shul* (small synagogue) (2015), the *mikveh* (ritual bath) (2018), and the Educational Center located in the synagogue's basement. In addition, in 2017, the FBK conducted archaeological excavations on the site of the New Synagogue, built in 1872 and destroyed during the Night of Broken Glass on November 9, 1938.<\/p>\n
